RadMaps MCP

Design RadMaps posters with ChatGPT or Claude.

RadMaps offers a private, account-connected Model Context Protocol server for supported AI tools. Browse eligible designs, explore styles, create place-based drafts, and apply reviewable poster edits without exposing private route data.

Manage connections

What it can do

A focused design connection.

  • List eligible posters owned by the connected RadMaps account.
  • Read safe design settings, supported controls, and the current revision.
  • Suggest themes and apply typed, reviewable, undoable design changes.
  • Search for a place and create a new draft after the user confirms the result.
  • Resume persistent RadMaps design conversations.

What stays private

The connector has hard boundaries.

  • Strava imports and their conversations are excluded.
  • Raw route geometry, private derivatives, and print files are never returned.
  • Checkout, ordering, payments, fulfillment, credentials, and provider administration are outside the tool surface.
  • Read access is required; editing is a separate permission the user chooses during connection.
  • Every edit requires the current design revision, so stale changes fail safely.

Connect

Add RadMaps as a remote MCP server.

  1. 01

Open the connectors or developer settings in an AI client that supports remote MCP.

  2. 02

Add https://radmaps.studio/mcp as the server URL.

  3. 03

Sign in to RadMaps and approve read access, plus editing only if you want it.

  4. 04

Ask the AI tool to open RadMaps studio or work on one of your eligible posters.

Client support and directory availability vary. The endpoint uses remote Streamable HTTP and OAuth; a public ChatGPT or Claude directory listing requires each provider's separate review and publication process.

Example requests

Ask for the design outcome.

Clear requests help the AI tool choose the right RadMaps capability while keeping edits deliberate.

“Open my RadMaps designs and help me choose one to update.”
“Read this poster and suggest a warmer theme without changing the route.”
“Create a new place-based map for Moab, Utah, after I confirm the search result.”
“Make the title easier to read, then show me the proposed changes before applying them.”

Questions

AI connection FAQ

Does connecting an AI tool make my maps public?

No. The MCP server requires RadMaps sign-in and owner-scoped OAuth. Public search pages and the private design connection are separate surfaces.

Can the AI tool see my Strava routes?

No. Strava imports, their route data, and their design conversations are excluded from the MCP surface.

Can the connector place an order or charge me?

No. Cart, checkout, payment, fulfillment, and provider administration are not MCP tools.

Can it edit a poster without permission?

No. Read access is required, write access is optional, and meaningful edits should be confirmed. Writes also require the latest design revision.

Is RadMaps automatically listed in ChatGPT or Claude?

No. A working MCP endpoint can be connected in supported clients, but public directory discovery requires a separate review and publication process from each provider.
