Grand Rapids City Map Poster

About this print

Grand Rapids map poster

Grand Rapids grew up along the Grand River, and the river still shapes the way the city feels: bridges stitching the east and west banks together, older brick buildings near the water, and neighborhoods spreading out across the hills on either side. Michigan's second-largest city carries a long history as a furniture-making center, and that sense of craft lingers in its restored warehouses, its museums, and its steady, unpretentious character. For anyone who has lived here, studied here, or simply spent a few good weekends wandering downtown and the streets beyond it, the city's layout holds a lot of personal geography.

This print presents Grand Rapids as a street map in the Cartouche style, turning the city's grid and the curves around the river into a piece of wall art. It works as a quiet reminder of a hometown, a first apartment, a college stretch, or the place a family put down roots. It also makes a thoughtful gift for someone who has moved away from West Michigan and still talks about it with affection.

The poster is meant to be enjoyed as decoration rather than used for finding a way around town, so it fits as easily in a living room or hallway as it does in an office or entryway. Paired with other city prints or hung on its own, it gives Grand Rapids a place on the wall that matches the place it holds in memory. The size and finishing options are listed on this page, so it is easy to choose the version that suits the room it is headed for.
