About this print

Greensboro map poster

Greensboro sits in the rolling Piedmont of North Carolina, one of the anchor cities of the Triad alongside Winston-Salem and High Point. It is a place with deep roots and an easygoing pace: a downtown of brick storefronts and restored buildings, tree-lined neighborhoods that spread out in every direction, and a street grid that gradually loosens into curving suburban roads and parkland. This print captures the city's layout as a street map rendered in the Watercolor style, with soft, blended color that suits a city known more for warmth than for flash.

The city carries a lot of history for its size. The lunch counter sit-ins at the downtown Woolworth's, led by students from North Carolina A&T, became a turning point in the civil rights movement, and the site now houses the International Civil Rights Center and Museum. Greensboro is also home to UNC Greensboro and several other colleges, and the Guilford Courthouse battlefield on the city's north side marks a significant Revolutionary War engagement. For anyone who studied here, raised a family here, or still drives these streets every day, those layers tend to matter.

The Watercolor edition is a visual design style, giving the familiar map a gentle, painterly look that sits comfortably in a living room, office, or dorm. It makes a thoughtful gift for a graduate, a new homeowner, or someone who moved away and misses the place. Like every RadMaps print, it is meant as decorative art rather than a navigation tool, a way to keep a meaningful city in view.
