About this print

Lubbock map poster

Lubbock sits on the high, flat plains of West Texas, and its street grid shows that landscape plainly: long, straight roads running out toward cotton fields and wide horizons. This poster renders the city's street map in the Watercolor style, softening that orderly geometry with loose washes of color so the map reads less like a chart and more like a painting of a place someone knows well.

For a lot of people, Lubbock means Texas Tech and fall Saturdays, or the years spent there as a student before moving somewhere else. For others it is simply home: the city of Buddy Holly, of big skies and sudden dust, of a music history much larger than its spot on the map might suggest. A street map is a quiet way to hold onto all of that. It carries no slogan, no photograph of a single building, just the shape of the town where the routines happened, whether that meant the drive to class, the road out to a family place, or the streets walked so many times they stopped needing a name.

The Watercolor edition suits rooms that call for something gentle rather than graphic. It sits comfortably in a living room, an office, or a dorm, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a graduate, a new resident, or someone who left West Texas but still talks about it. Like every RadMaps print, it is meant as decorative art and a reminder of a place, not as a map for finding your way around.
