About this print
Mesa map poster
Mesa sits in the East Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area, a sprawling desert city that many people know as home long before they think of it as a place on a map. It is a city of wide arterial roads and long, straight blocks laid out across flat desert ground, with the Salt River to the north and the rugged shapes of the Usery and Superstition mountains rising toward the east. Spring brings baseball fans for Cactus League training games, and the rest of the year belongs to the people who live, work and raise families there.
This print is a street map poster of Mesa in the Blackline style, one of the RadMaps design editions. Blackline gives a city a bold, graphic presence, and the orderly character of a grid-built desert town suits that treatment well. The result reads as clean modern wall art, at home in a living room, a home office or an entryway, and it holds up whether the viewer knows every corner of the city or simply likes the look of a well-drawn map. It is decorative art meant for display, not a tool for finding the way across town.
A map of Mesa can mark a lot of things: the neighborhood where someone grew up, the city where a first house was bought, a winter spent away from colder places, or a recent move that is starting to feel like home. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a friend or relative with roots in the East Valley, or for someone who has left Arizona and misses the desert light. Each print is produced digitally from the same design, and the available options are listed on this page.
