About this print
Sacramento map poster
Sacramento grew up where the American River meets the Sacramento River, and its streets still carry the logic of a river town that became a capital. Downtown is laid out on a plain grid of numbered and lettered streets, an order that makes the city easy to learn and easy to remember. Beyond it, the neighborhoods loosen into leafy blocks, a reminder of why locals call it the City of Trees, and the levees and bike paths follow the water out toward the suburbs.
The city's history runs close to the surface. Old Sacramento keeps its Gold Rush-era storefronts along the riverfront, the golden Tower Bridge crosses over to West Sacramento, and the State Capitol sits in its shaded park at the head of Capitol Mall. Farm-to-fork restaurants, summer evenings on the river, and long, hot afternoons that ease into the cool Delta breeze are all part of the place for anyone who has lived here or spent real time here.
This print presents Sacramento's street map in the Cartouche style, a design edition suited to a wall where a sense of place matters. It makes a thoughtful choice for someone who grew up in Midtown or East Sac, a longtime state worker, a Sac State or UC Davis graduate, or anyone who still thinks of the city as home, wherever they live now. It is decorative art rather than a guide for getting around, meant for looking at, remembering, and starting conversations about a city that often gets less credit than it deserves.
