Tallahassee City Map Poster

About this print

Tallahassee map poster

Tallahassee is Florida's capital, a city of rolling hills and canopy roads set in the state's Panhandle, a long way in character from the beaches and theme parks most people picture when they think of Florida. Live oaks draped in Spanish moss shade many of its older streets, and the city's grid gives way to winding roads that follow the land rather than flatten it. It is also a college town, home to Florida State University and Florida A&M University, which gives it a steady rhythm of game days, graduations, and new arrivals each fall.

This print renders Tallahassee's street map in the Overprint style, a graphic design treatment with bold, layered color that turns the city's layout into something closer to abstract art than a reference map. It reads well from across a room and still rewards a closer look, which makes it an easy fit for a living room, office, or dorm wall.

A map of a city tends to mean the most to people who have spent time in it: alumni who remember four years of classes and football Saturdays, people who worked in or around the Capitol, families who have put down roots in the area, or anyone who has moved away and wants a reminder of where they came from. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a graduate or for someone starting a new chapter in the city. As with every RadMaps poster, it is meant as decorative art for the wall rather than a guide for finding your way around town.
