About this print

Raleigh map poster

Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina, a city laid out with intention and grown into something greener and looser than its original plan. It sits in the Piedmont, where rolling ground and tall oaks have earned it the nickname City of Oaks, and its downtown holds the State Capitol, museums, and the government buildings that make it the seat of state life. Beyond the center, the city spreads into older residential streets, university neighborhoods around NC State, and newer growth reaching out across Wake County. Together with Durham and Chapel Hill it anchors the Research Triangle, a region known for its universities and research work.

This print renders Raleigh in the Painted Survey style, one of the design editions in the RadMaps collection. It is a street map poster meant for the wall, a way to keep the shape of a familiar city close at hand rather than a guide for getting around it. For someone who studied here, started a career here, raised a family here, or simply lived a good stretch of years among these streets, a map of the city can hold a lot of memory without needing to spell any of it out.

It also makes a thoughtful gift for a person heading off to a new place after time in Raleigh, or for someone who has just arrived and is beginning to learn the city. Hung in a home office, a hallway, or a living room, it offers a quiet reminder of where daily life happened. The available print options are listed on this page.
