About this print
Minneapolis map poster
Minneapolis is a city shaped by water. The Mississippi River cuts through it, and St. Anthony Falls, the only major natural waterfall on the upper Mississippi, gave the young city the power that built its flour mills. Beyond the river, a chain of lakes and parkways threads through the neighborhoods, so that much of daily life here happens within reach of a shoreline, a bike trail, or a stretch of green. It is a place people tend to know street by street, whether from years of living there or from a few memorable visits.
This print renders Minneapolis in the Neon Night style, a design that sets the city's street grid against a dark ground in bright, electric color. The effect suggests the city after sundown, when the lights come on downtown and the long winter evenings settle in. It suits a room that could use a bit of glow and graphic energy, and it reads as a portrait of a place rather than a guide to getting around it. Like all RadMaps posters, it is meant as decorative art, not for navigation.
For someone who grew up in Minneapolis, moved away and still calls it home, or recently put down roots in one of its neighborhoods, a map of the city can carry a lot of personal history. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a friend heading off to school at the University of Minnesota or settling into a first apartment near the lakes. The Neon Night edition gives that familiar layout a bold, after-dark character that stands out on a wall.
